ALL THE FESTIVAL’S A STAGE

Each year the Maryland Renaissance Festival’s village of Revel Grove comes to life in the forests and glen of Crownsville, Maryland.  The countryside is transformed with more than 200 entertainers making merry amongst the 16^th century shops, emporiums and eateries of King Henry VIII’s magical kingdom.  A playground of fun, frivolity and wondrous performances thrill more than 350,000 visitors each year.

The almost continuous entertainment on all ten stages features many returning favorite performers. Returning to thrill again, Debracey Productions Joust Troupe thunders down the field with solid lances to unhorse one another; showcasing trick riding and even a combat chariot duel; the charming and beguiling talent of A Fool Named “O” and LaLa, the mimes; the rollicking Piper Jones; join Dash Rippington in his Dangerously Stupid show; the comedy and magic of Dinty the Moor; Less S. Moore Will Steal Your Stuff pickpocketing and magic; Topsy Turvy comedic contortion and acrobatics; The Birds of Prey Show; and a one-hour theatrical version of Macbeth. Also performing for the entire season are Paolo Garbanzo, Gwendolyn and Nobeard, and pathway fun with Don Quixote, Digger Plotts the gravedigger, and more! Throughout the season the most popular renaissance acts from across the country in limited run engagements bid you to visit over and over again; Hilby, the Skinny German Juggle Boy amazes and confuses; The London Broil cooks up rare juggling well done; and in the 52^nd  year of performing nationwide the enormously popular comedy sword fighting and witty repartee of Puke and Snot bedazzle with their fast-paced humor. Returning by popular demand for limited run are Martika’s One Woman Stunt Show, Jacques Ze Whipper, Barely Balanced, Shakespeare Approves!, and Midwife Crisis. For nine weekends the Maryland Renaissance Festival brings the Village of Revel Grove, a 27-acre stage, to life for the enjoyment and merriment of all those who enter it’s castle gates.
