Drone Regulations and Policy

The Maryland Renaissance Festival is a private business on private property. It is not permissible to fly an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) over private property without the expressed permission of the owner. It is Prohibited to fly an UAS higher than 400 feet, within 400 feet of individuals unless the individual(s)is(are) participating in the actual operation and use and are fully aware in advance of the UAS operation and activity. UAS must pose no threat or undue hazard to other aircraft, people, or property in the event of loss of control of the aircraft for any reason. Even then, if all individuals are aware and approving and participating no remote pilot may operate over open-air assemblies unless the operation is compliant with Remote ID.

Event insurance prohibits allowing drones over the Festival property.
