Welcome Honored Guests The 2010 Maryland Renaissance Festival opens for its thirty-fourth season in the Village of Revel Grove at its home in Crownsville, Maryland on August 28 for another season of mirth, frivolity and amusement. Original work by talented craftsmen and a feast of food and libations awaits through the portals to the time of Henry VIII set in sixteenth century English glory. Lift up your cares, partake and enjoy! Let Merriment Abound! The Maryland Renaissance Festival plans for the future! From humble beginnings in 1977 at Symphony Woods adjacent to Merriweather Post Pavilion, the Festival has become among the region's premier outdoor attractions. Featuring a cornucopia of entertainment, feasting, quality crafts and attractions of mirth the Festival enthralls patrons of all ages. In its endeavor to continue and build on that tradition the Festival management has undertaken the task of planning the future growth of the event. The intention of the growth is not necessarily to increase the size of the Festival but to ensure its quality and appeal to its customers. The very nature of the Festival is a customer service venue and in an effort to broaden the show's appeal and quality a vast array of options is under consideration, including the possibility of relocating the Festival to secure its operation as a great attraction for generations in the future. The Festival will continue for many years to come at its location in Crownsville where it has been enjoyed by guests since 1985.
